Cornu Tension is what gets us there:
Do you want the Saw to be the same sitting or standing?
Why? Based upon what? What would make either variation the same?
Her are six images and a test of what your eye sees:
So here is an eye test for subscribers to hone their teacher's eye.
I'm pleased to announce new material
added to the Michael Miller Pilates Continuing Ed on the Web database
at www.hermit.com.
For the first time, the warm up sequence that Joseph Pilates demonstrates on film on more than one occasion is captured and shown here:

In plane, front front
side to side, in and out
front, front, front switch

...now starts roll up.
Standing Saw with variations, lunges, and Neck Pull
then with the arms, circles inside to outside, then outside to inside,
then Corkscrew arms.
All of which is consistent with his other work and the idea derived therefrom.
There are two gifts from Michael Miller, the idea and the image.
The idea explains the point of pilates; the image shows how to make the point.
The definition of pilates as an idea is uniform, eccentric, loading, flowing through progressive patterns of movement.
The image illuminates how the body moves. Creating endpoints of tension makes alignment perceptible and fluorescence possible. The point of pilates is fluorescence.
We are all complete packages.
Each of us has body, mind, and spirit.
The target of pilates is to completely coordinate the three.
The image helps you get there.
Knee stretches can be found here:

If you are a subscriber you can see instructions happening till they would be a distraction. Watch the Cameron clip. When you see your client dissappear into their effort, the teacher keeps their mouth shut so as not to distract the clients focus. You want the client totally absorbed in their own experience. Know when to stay quiet and wait till they lose their focus.
